In this episode of Grab a Seat\u2014Grab\u2019s tech podcast\u2014Chief People Officer Ong Chin Yin and Group Head of Mobility and Delivery Businesses Sean Goh share what has kept them at the company for close to a decade.\u00a0<\/p>

It definitely wasn\u2019t the snazzy office, says Goh. When Ong and Goh joined the company, Grab was just a small start-up with a fraction of the number of employees it has today.<\/p>

Goh graduated with a law degree but never practised. Instead, he went on to take on roles in investment banking and consulting.\u00a0<\/p>

\u201cEither I wanted to experience lots of things or I didn\u2019t really know what it was that called out to me,\u201d says Goh of the time he was trying out different roles. At Grab, however, he was able to see the impact of the work he did.\u00a0<\/p>

Meanwhile, Ong was drawn to the opportunity to head up the people function at Grab having been in human resources for a good part of her career.\u00a0<\/p>

She had played a huge role in shaping the company\u2019s culture. As Grab grew bigger, Ong and her team began focusing on developing leadership culture within the organisation. Following many focus group discussions, Grab\u2019s 4Hs\u2014Heart, Hunger, Honour, Humility\u2014were established.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

While the 4Hs were first introduced as part of leadership culture, these core values eventually trickled down to every Grabber, says Ong.\u00a0<\/p>

\u201cHow people show up every day is very important,\u201d says Ong.<\/p>

Goh highlights how Grab\u2019s culture has been central to building strong relationships, promoting engagement, and developing a sense of camaraderie among employees.\u00a0<\/p>

\u201cUltimately what gives you a sneak peek into the company is the people you meet,\u201d says Goh.\u00a0<\/p>
