In Vietnam\u2019s seaside towns, people enjoy picnic gatherings with friends and family on the beach. Little wonder, given that the country is lined with a coastline of more than 3,000km.<\/p>

Nowadays, people often travel to and from these picnic spots with Grab. Even the food and drink enjoyed at these spots is also often conveniently ordered through Grab. But Grab\u2019s driver and delivery-partners sometimes have trouble finding the right location, which can lead to delivery delays or order cancellations.<\/p>

Finding a delivery or pick-up spot along a beachfront is complicated, because there are no specific addresses and a lack of Points of Interest (POIs). POIs are marked and named locations on the map that Grab users and driver-partners use as pick-up or drop-off points. They simplify navigation.<\/p>

Grab thought of a way around this, so that we can cater to delivery needs along Vietnam\u2019s popular beaches with little fuss. We partnered with local governments in four of Vietnam\u2019s biggest beach cities to turn specific locations into a branded POI.<\/p>

The result: \u2018Find Me Here\u2019 benches. Each bench is numbered, making it a unique POI for GrabFood users to pinpoint on the Grab app. They can simply select the closest one on Grab when making their orders. For driver-partners, they now have a clearly identifiable landmark to navigate to. Deliveries can be completed swiftly with little confusion.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In 2023, 280 new meeting points were created in four cities, namely Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Khanh Hoa and Vung Tau.\u00a0<\/p>

We can say now that this measure has significantly improved order cancellation rates and added convenience for both Grab users and driver-partners.<\/p>

But the benefits do not end there.\u00a0<\/p>

Each bench has a QR code which links to a list of recommended F&B merchants nearby. This helps to promote local businesses in the neighbourhood and introduces local favourites to international visitors. Even locals familiar with the area can discover places they did not know about previously.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

On a macro level, \u2018Find Me Here\u2019 benches have enhanced the visitor experience, making beachside meet-ups an even more attractive option for more people.\u00a0<\/p>

Now, Grab is looking to take this collaboration to the next level. We\u2019re already working with seven local town councils to personalise the benches so they carry the name of the city they\u2019re located in. New POIs with an overhead shade that resemble the n\u00f3n l\u00e1, Vietnam\u2019s iconic conical hat, are also set to be installed at the end of April 2024.\u00a0<\/p>
