We all know what it\u2019s like to worry about a family member who has to take a late-night car ride. If you\u2019re a Grab user, you might have asked your loved ones to share their ride details so you know if they\u2019re safely on their way home. And chances are you\u2019ve booked a ride for a friend who may be out of cash or for a family member who isn\u2019t as smartphone-savvy.<\/p>

Introducing Family Account<\/h5>

Now, users can do all these conveniently with Grab\u2019s Family Account. It allows users to book rides on behalf of their loved ones and monitor their journeys so they can enjoy stress-free rides.<\/p>

Family Account is available in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia.<\/p>

Users across the region can sign up for a Family Account. The Family Account administrator can then add others as members to manage rides for them. Fun fact: Administrators can even add family members and friends who are overseas and book rides on their behalf.<\/p>

Why we built Family Account<\/h5>

We started building Family Account because we learned that more than 50 per cent of users were already booking rides on behalf of family in Singapore, the Philippines, and Indonesia.<\/p>

About 62 per cent of respondents from all our markets also say they would like an option to link their family members\u2019 Grab accounts to theirs.<\/p>

The top reason for doing so is to check in on their family members: users want to ensure their loved ones arrive safely at their destinations. The next most popular reason is convenience, as sharing a payment method as a family makes things easier.<\/p>

How Family Account works<\/h5>

To get Family Account up and running, the admin simply sends an invitation to each member via a link or adds them via the mobile number that\u2019s linked to their Grab account.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Up to nine members can be added to a Family Account for the administrator to manage their rides.\u00a0<\/p>

The Family Account administrator can then book rides for members. Once booked, that member will receive details about their upcoming rides, get real-time updates about the ride, communicate with the driver or even make changes to their destination\u2014all through their Grab app.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

With the shared payment function, the administrator can easily pay for rides. Plus, everyone in the Family Account can view the ride transaction history.<\/p>

Enhanced safety<\/h5>

To put our users\u2019 minds at ease, there are also a series of safety features in place for rides booked under Family Account.\u00a0<\/p>

The administrator can see the details of their family members\u2019 rides without them having to share these manually. Meanwhile, the riders will be able to access in-trip safety features like the Safety Centre, which allows them to seek emergency assistance, and AudioProtect<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
