The GrabFood delivery bags that you see on the road today are the fifth version of the bag that\u2019s been improved over the years. This one, in particular, was the result of a big hackathon we did with a group of delivery-partners in Malaysia.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Our first version was created five years ago when we launched our food delivery service. As more merchant-partners came onboard the platform, our partners told us they needed improvements to the bag to accommodate bigger and more complex orders.<\/p>

In 2019, we decided to go back to the drawing board for a big reboot. We held a design brainstorming session with 15 delivery-partners in Malaysia to hear their feedback.<\/p>

Among the wish list items were a bigger bag for large orders and more cup holders than the existing four. The bag had to fit a large pizza, they said. And with Southeast Asia\u2019s warm climate, they asked for better insulation to keep drinks cold.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

They also asked for adjustable straps that can be shortened. Since many of our delivery-partners get around using motorcycles, they wanted to avoid loose straps that could get caught on adjacent vehicles on the road.<\/p>

In the following weeks, we got our vendors to create the prototypes and got some of our delivery-partners to put them to the test for a day.<\/p>

The winning prototype was unveiled and rolled out in February 2020.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Some of the latest features include adjustable base straps that can be tucked away when delivery-partners are on the move, as well as a magnetic opening to update the zippers or hook and loop fasteners used in previous iterations of the bag. A raincover is also built in to keep the bag dry on rainy days.<\/p>

With the latest version of the bags, our delivery-partners have been delivering food items safely and efficiently while ensuring that the quality of food will not be compromised.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
