These fees also help to cover operational costs of rolling out product and service improvements that will benefit our users.<\/p><p>We commit a significant portion of the platform fee to developing and maintaining product features focused on safety, security, and quality and productivity for our passengers.<\/p><p>Such product development efforts include:<\/p><ul><li>Facial recognition system used to verify the identity of passengers and driver-partners for the safety of everyone<\/li><li>Rides equipped with a safety centre button for passengers to ride with a peace of mind<\/li><li>Overall maintenance of all new product features on the app<\/li><\/ul><p>A portion of the platform fee also goes into driver-partner support, including benefits and training allowances, to name a few examples.<\/p><p>The fee is part of Grab\u2019s longstanding commitment to reinvesting in tech and safety, and allows us to continue to do so sustainably.<\/p><p>The platform fee is separate from driver-partner commissions, which is the fee paid to Grab for the ride-matching service we provide.
