Being a Grab driver-partner means being a part of a community. Whether you’ve been with us for years or months, we want to thank you for taking this journey with us.

We will continuously strive to connect you to the opportunities, support and safeguards you need on and off the road. Click on the tabs below to discover more about how we’re looking after you.

Over the years, we’ve evolved from a ride hailing company, to one that connects different areas of daily life. As we grow, so do your possibilities with us. Scroll down to learn more.

By offering a range of everyday, premium and specialised ride services, we’re able to cater to the different needs of passengers, opening up new earning opportunities for you. Here are just some value-added services you can sign up for.

A comfortable and convenient ride option for passengers with pets.
LTA-approved family-friendly rides for young children under 1.35m.
For the elderly and those who need wheelchair assistance.

COVID-19 has brought about a greater need for deliveries.

To help you adapt to these rapidly changing circumstances, we’ve worked with LTA to pilot a programme for driver-partners with eligible insurance and all GrabRental driver-partners to accept GrabFood, GrabExpress and GrabMart jobs.

We are committed to supporting you in this new normal, and will focus our efforts and resources on maximising your earning opportunities beyond driving and deliveries – whether on our platform or outside of it.

To do so, we have launched new training and career support initiatives aimed at strengthening and expanding your skill sets and capabilities, to enhance your employability and capture those earning opportunities.

Grab Weekly Cover

As Grab’s contribution to the Special Relief Fund, the Weekly Cover will provide driver-partners who have completed >=200 trips/month in Q4 2019 with a fixed sum of $45 or $85/week per driver-partner; in addition to the Government-funded Support of $10/day per vehicle.

During this time, to counteract the decrease in demand for rides, the Missions scheme will be replaced with the Grab Weekly Cover. It offers a broader base of driver-partners a more attainable target to hit during this time. Allowing for more income security with a fixed weekly payout. There will also be no change to Emerald Circle tiers (no upgrade or demotion).

Lower weekly rides targets for premium services.

We understand that demand for premium services may be lower during this period and have adjusted our weekly ride targets accordingly to make the incentives more achievable.

Starting 1 July 2020, Grab Performance Rebate will be introduced in place of the monthly-rated top driver rating challenge and AR/CR Challenges, Diamond Tier Bonus, Birthday Rewards and the Super Steady program.

In this new programme, the Top 18,000 driver-partners who have contributed the most commissions from their rides and met the DR/CR requirements for the quarter with Auto-Accept always on, will qualify for a 12% commission rebate for that quarter, paid out on the 7th day of the new quarter. GrabRentals hirer-partners within this group will be eligible for an additional 8% commission rebate

In addition to this, Grab will continue to provide additional income support to any driver or delivery-partner hospitalised, quarantined or on LOA. And GrabRentals will also offer free vehicle disinfection on your servicing sessions.

As businesses slowly reopen in phases, ride demand will continue to be affected. None of us know what this means to us in the long term, except that what was once normal in a pre-COVID-19 world will no longer be.

To make it operationally sustainable for us all, we will need to closely monitor market conditions and consider all options including reviewing existing incentives and benefits. We will have more updates for you from mid-June and until then, have made the decision to extend Upfront Commission Reductions till 21 June, 2020 to assist you during this time of change:

We want to be able to support our driver-partner community but have to be realistic that without demand picking up, we will not have the funds to do so. This is by far the biggest challenge we’ve had to face as a community and we need to work together to overcome it.

Note: This will only be applicable for GrabCar rides.

To further assist our GrabRentals hirer-partners as we gradually transition out of the Circuit Breaker period in 3 phases, we’ve extended these support schemes till 21 June, 2020:

Komsan Chiyadis

GrabFood delivery-partner, Thailand

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.

As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.

Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
