Terms and Conditions 

GrabPay Power Up Challenge

  1. Each Challenge is specially designed for every individual user and each user may receive different Challenges, limited to the user who has access to the Challenge in their app. Grab reserves the right to limit accessibility of participants to the Challenge in their app.
  2. Users need to opt-in to this challenge (Click on the ‘Accept Challenge’ button) before spending or topping up, in order for all their actions to qualify towards this Challenge.
  3. GrabPay Wallet top up methods that are valid for this Challenge include through linked UOB bank account, other bank accounts via PayNow VPA, and all credit/debit cards. Transfers via peer-to-peer do not count towards GrabPay top ups for this Challenge.
  4. Spends which are valid for this Challenge include online and in-person payments to GrabPay-enabled merchants, online and in-person payments using GrabPay Card, and online payments using PayLater to GrabPay-enabled merchants.
  5. Spends which are not valid for this Challenge include all transactions on Grab rides, GrabFood and GrabMart orders, GrabExpress deliveries, GrabPay peer-to-peer transactions, and refunded spends.
  6. Other spends which are not valid for this Challenge include online/offline spends on the following Merchant Category Codes – MCC 6540 – POI Funding Transactions, MCC 7299 – Miscellaneous personal services, MCC 6012 – Financial Services, MCC 7399 – Business services not elsewhere classified, MCC 6536 – Money Send, MCC 6537 – Money Send intercountry, MCC 6011 – Financial Institutions Manual Cash Disbursements, MCC 6300 – Insurance Sales, Underwriting and Premiums, MCC 5960 – Direct Marketing Insurance Services, MCC 8398 – Charities, MCC 8220 – Colleges, Junior Colleges, Universities, and Professional Schools, MCC 8299 – Schools and Educational Services ( Not Elsewhere Classified), MCC 8661 – Religious Organizations, MCC 8211 – Elementary and Secondary Schools, MCC 8244 – Business and Secretarial Schools, MCC 8249 – Vocational Schools and Trade Schools, MCC 8241 – Correspondence Schools, MCC 8062 – Hospitals.
  7. Discounts and promo codes do not count towards campaign period spend. For example, if an e-Commerce order costs $20 and a $3 promo code is used, only $17 final spend will count.
  8. Challenge is only valid when you are in Singapore. Any GrabPay transaction made outside Singapore will not contribute towards this Challenge.
  9. This Challenge cannot be replayed once it is completed or the period has ended.
  10. Challenge will end when the time runs out, or when the available reward inventory runs out, whichever earlier.
  11. GrabRewards points rewarded in this challenge will not count towards tier qualification.
  12. Grab reserves the sole and absolute right to alter or end this promotion, without giving prior notice, or compensation in cash or in kind.
  13. Grab reserves the sole and absolute right to disqualify or reject any participant deemed ineligible for the campaign, be it under these terms and conditions or having engaged in conduct that Grab considers inappropriate or unacceptable.

GrabPay Card Accelerator

  1. GrabPay Card Accelerator booster (referred to as ‘Booster’ for the rest of the T&C) gives users an additional 4 GrabRewards points per dollar spent on goods and services within the following Merchant Category Codes (MCCs) : 7997-Membership Clubs (Sports, Recreation, Athletic), Country Clubs, and Private Golf Courses, 4899-Cable and other pay television (previously Cable Services), 5816-Digital Goods: Games, 5815-Digital Goods: Media, Books, Movies, Music, 5817-Digital Goods: Applications (Excludes Games), 5818-Digital Goods: Large Digital Goods Merchant, 5814-Fast Food Restaurants, 5812-Eating places and Restaurants

     

  2.  Booster is capped at a maximum of 20 transactions per user per monthly cycle (15th of every month, to the 14th of the next consecutive month).
  3. Booster is capped at a maximum of 500 points per transaction.
  4. Limited total redemptions available per monthly cycle. Booster redemptions  renew on the 15th of every month.
  5. GrabRewards points rewarded in this challenge will not count towards Rewards tier qualification.
  6. Grab reserves the sole and absolute right to alter or end this promotion, without giving prior notice, or compensation in cash or in kind.
  7. Grab reserves the sole and absolute right to disqualify or reject any participant deemed ineligible for the campaign, be it under these terms and conditions or having engaged in conduct that Grab considers inappropriate or unacceptable.

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.

As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.

Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
