Grab is currently the only platform approved by LTA to allow PDVL drivers to deliver food as a means of additional earnings. Note that providing a commercial courier service using a Private-Hire Car other than Grab’s related service is still not lawful under LTA’s regulations.
You must be covered by your insurer for commercial courier service (eg. Food/Parcel delivery)
Yes, you will be able to receive jobs from all service type (GrabCar,GrabTaxi, GrabExpress and GrabFood) one at a time. You are however, not able to fetch a passenger and delivery food/items at the same time.
Upon signing up, we will send the selected driver-partners a GrabFood x GrabExpress training link. It is compulsory to complete the online training before we notify you for the collection of your FREE GrabFood gear. Thereafter, it will take up to 6 working weeks for your account to be activated.
An in-principle approval has been issued to the following insurers below to extend motor insurance to commercial courier services. Personal injury and accidents will be covered in accordance with Grab’s Group Personal Accidents.

No, GrabFood and/or GrabExpress jobs do not count towards GrabCar’s incentives.
No, you will only get back-to-back orders within the same service type. This means you can receive another GrabCar trip when you are currently on a GrabCar ride, but you will not be able to receive a GrabFood job. The same applies for when you are on a GrabFood delivery, you can receive another GrabFood back-to-back order, but not for GrabCar rides.
You can turn off the service type via your driver profile in the Grab Driver App.

As long as you are still activated as a PHV dax in our system, the Grab’s Special Relief Fund (SRF) will still be offered.
You do not need to pay upfront for any GrabFood jobs. Driver-partners are encouraged to bring cash on hand for COD orders for small change for consumers
No commission will be charged for all GrabFood jobs.
Yes, you will be required to store the food in the provided GrabFood delivery bag to ensure food hygiene. You are encouraged to keep the food within the bag and in your car boot.
In the unfortunate event of any damage to the items on delivery, each delivery is covered for up to SGD500 per delivery.
No, we do not provide reimbursement for parking fee during a delivery

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.
As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.
Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
