Improved Demand Heat Map!

From 24th September 2018, we are rolling out a new and improved version of the Demand Heat Map for all Partners.

Optimise your productivity and driving hours with this feature!

What’s new with this Heat Map?

1. Simplified Demand Map

Passenger demand is now represented by different shades of red. The darker the area, the more demand there!
*Note: the ‘redness’ of an area does not represent the fare

2. Zoom and scroll in greater detail

Zoom in on the map, or scroll around to see exactly which areas have higher passenger demand. Know where you want to drive!

Great! How do I activate it?

Simply follow the instructions below.
Tap on
‘Jobs available’ to enable and disable the Demand Heat Map.

*Do ensure that you’re at least on Grab Driver app v1.33.1 (iOS) or v5.46.0 (Android).

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How often does the Demand Heat Map refresh?
A: The Heat Map refreshes at 5 minute intervals. As demand increases in an area, you’ll see the shade of red become darker. If the shade of red becomes lighter, demand in the area is decreasing!

Q: Will I able to zoom in with this Heat Map?
A: Yes! Pinch or double tap your screen to zoom into the map. You can also scroll around to check different areas.

Q: Will going to an area with high passenger demand mean I’ll definitely get a job?
A: We can’t guarantee that you’ll get a job, but going to a high-demand area will definitely increase your chances of getting one!

Q: Will going to an area with high passenger demand mean I’ll get high-fare jobs?
A: The updated Heat Map shows areas with demand-supply imbalance. As such, you may or may not get high-priced jobs in these areas. Fret not, we are looking at ways to improve your productivity even more, so stay tuned!

Q: Both my friend and I are on the updated Heat Map. However, we see different high-demand patterns. Why is this so?
A: The Heat Map shows a combined demand for the different service types you have enabled. To see the same high-demand pattern, please ensure that you and your friend have the same service types enabled.

Q: I tried enabling the Demand Heat Map, but received a pop-up asking me to turn on other service types. Why is this so?
A: This is because the service type(s) you have currently enabled has insufficient demand. Please enable other service types under ‘Settings’ to see if there is demand for those services.

Q: Why am I still on the old Heat Map?
A: Your current phone software version might not be able to support the new Heat Map. Do ensure that you’re at least on Grab Driver app v1.33.1 for iOS or v5.46.0 for Android.

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.

As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.

Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
