Grab Transport Driver Training & Assessment

Here at Grab, safety and quality have always been our top priorities. We’re therefore always striving and looking for opportunities to provide and improve our levels of safety and service, for both you and our passengers.

As such, from 8 June 2020, new and re-activating driver-partners (GrabCar & GrabTaxi) will have to complete 2 new courses & 1 driving assessment as part of our new onboarding requirements, after signing up or re-activating your account as a Grab driver-partner.

Existing Grab driver-partners are also encouraged to attend these 2 courses (Optional) to up-skill and ensure we continue to uphold safety and quality levels of our transport services.

Courses and Assessment

All driver-partners who complete each of these courses and assessment, will be awarded individual certificates.

Courses (New, Re-activating or Existing)

  1. Vehicle Safety & Maintenance (Duration: 1 day)

    Safe driving practices and vehicle maintenance will help minimize repair-related expenses and keep your Grab journeys incident-free.

  2. Customer Service & Quality (Duration: 1 day)

    Providing good customer service will help prepare you for situations with various types of passengers and ensure a high level of quality service will still be upheld.

Assessment (New and Re-activating)

  1. Safety & Quality Driving (Duration: 0.5 day)
    Equipping you with defensive driving techniques and know-how to improve safety awareness and on-the-road reaction.

Assessment (New and Re-activating)

Physical registration will be required for the Safety & Quality Driving assessment, via the following process:

Registration Venue: Level 2, Classroom 4 or Level 3 Skylight Room (Refer to signage outside the room), ComfortDelgro Driving Centre Pte Ltd 205 Ubi Avenue 4 Singapore 408805

Registration Days: Every Wednesday,Friday & Saturday

Registration Time: 10am – 12pm (There will be no extension of registration timing past 12noon. Latecomers will be rejected and asked to come at the next registration date)

Practical Sessions: 12.45PM – 2.25PM OR 2.35PM – 4.15PM( Registration and Assessment Dates are separate days)

Mode of payment accepted at ComfortDelgro Driving Centre: NETS only

NOTE: Parking services will not be provided

Course Fees

*Upon course completion, you will be entitled to a training allowance from Grab, which will fully offset these subsidised fees. You may click here to apply for the allowance.

Additionally, all Singaporeans & PRs who are self-employed may apply to receive $10/hr from the NTUC Self-Employed Persons Training Allowance, by attending the above courses. You will need to apply for the SEP training allowance here before the commencement of the course date. Refer to FAQ for the process of submission for claims.

Courses/Assessment Exemption (New and Re-activating)

Courses can be waived if drivers are able to show proof that they have completed equivalent courses/assessment prior (subjected to GrabAcademy’s discretion on content equivalency and recency within 3 yrs).

Here at Grab safety and quality has always been our priority. We’re always on the look-out for opportunities to provide and improve higher levels of service and safety with programs like these.

You may attend these programs concurrently, while applying for your TDVL/PDVL.

Please provide us with the program details and we will evaluate your exemption status.

With effect from 8 June 2020, it will be mandatory for all new or re-activating driver-partners to attend these programs.

The validity period of these courses and assessment will be 3 years from the day of completion.

Yes. All new or re-activating driver-partners who wish to drive for GrabCar or GrabTaxi are required to complete these programs.

You are required to apply for the NTUC SEP training allowance here. 

If you are successful in your application, you can email your Letter of Eligibility or SIRS letters to Ngee Ann Polytechnic at to begin your process for claim submission.

You will be required to retake the assessment before continuing your onboarding process.

For Courses: You will receive your Letter of completion from Ngee Ann Polytechnic within 3 working days after course completion date.

For Assessment: You will receive a result slip from ComfortDelgro Driving Centre right after the completion.

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.

As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.

Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
