1. Book a ride with the promo code XIEXIE.
2. Under the notes section, pen a thank-you note to your driver.
3. Enjoy your ride with the added goodwill.
4. Your driver receives an $8.88 ang bao from Grab together with your heartfelt note.

Terms and conditions:
• Limited to 5,500 ang baos daily from 26 – 27 January 2017.
• No usage limit per user.
• Grab will cover the full value of $8.88 for each ang bao.

1. How do i give an ang bao? 

Take a ride anywhere on a GrabCar, GrabShare, GrabCar Premium, or GrabTaxi from 26-27 Jan and enter the code XIEXIE, as well as a note of thanks to your driver. Your driver will then receive a message on his app informing him of your gift and with your note.

2. How much is each ang bao? 

Each ang bao will gift the value of $8.88 to the driver.

3. How many ang baos can i give? 

There is no usage limit per user. You can gift one ang bao for each ride taken over the two days, with a limit of 5,500 ang baos given per day island-wide.

4. When can i give the ang baos? 

Promo codes have to be entered at the booking screen before rides are taken. 

5. Will I be charged for the ang baos i give to my Grab driver? 

Giving your driver an ang bao is free, and no amount will be deducted from your ride or card for your gift.

6. Can I give my GrabHitch driver an ang bao? 

Unfortunately this promo is not valid for GrabHitch rides.

7. Can I use another promo code on top of giving an ang bao? 

Unfortunately no other promo codes can be used along with your gift to your driver.

8. How many different types of ang baos are there to give my driver? 

To make things easy for you (and us!) we’ve only introduced one type of ang bao to gift your driver with.

9. The promo code doesn’t work for me

  • “Thank your driver with an Ang Bao” (“the Campaign”) is organised by Grab Pte Ltd. (“the Organiser”) and is open to all Grab users.

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.

As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.

Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
