New initiatives are part of Grab’s ongoing commitment to serving its GrabTaxi drivers
Singapore, 28 July 2016 – Grab, Southeast Asia’s leading ride-hailing company, today announced the opening of two new satellite GrabTaxi Driver Support Centres, as part of the company’s continued commitment to serving its GrabTaxi drivers. In addition, Grab is also introducing a special bonus scheme and a premium hotline dedicated to high-performing drivers.
With the opening of the new Centres, Grab’s growing pool of drivers, particularly those living in the heartlands, will enjoy increased convenience of accessing Grab’s services and support staff. The new Centres will mirror Grab’s existing Driver Support Centre at Midview City, which will enable drivers to sign up with Grab and top up their mobile wallets. Support will also be available on-site to address any issues or enquiries. The first satellite GrabTaxi Driver Support Centre, located at Jurong East, opens this week and will be followed by another set to open in the East this August.
“Taxi drivers spend long hours plying the roads and we want to make it easier and more convenient for them to access our services. Our new GrabTaxi Driver Support Centres would save taxi drivers a trip to Midview City, which will in turn save time and fuel usage. This is part of our ongoing driver care initiatives to better support driver-partners who have played a crucial role in fulfilling commuters’ on-demand point-to-point travel needs,” says Melvin Vu, Deputy Head of GrabTaxi Singapore.
Huat with Grab this Lunar New Year
Grab is also rolling out a new bonus scheme for high-performing GrabTaxi drivers. Termed Elites and Rangers, these top-tier drivers can enjoy Lunar New Year bonuses of up to S$2,520 depending on the number of peak hour trips they complete between July and December. These will be paid out two weeks before the holiday allowing GrabTaxi drivers to enjoy their bonuses during the festive season.
Elite drivers – Grab’s top performers – will also earn an additional S$1,088 if they complete 1,088 peak hour trips between August and December. These drivers will also enjoy special privileges such as a dedicated premium hotline to address any enquiries and free group Personal Accident Insurance coverage. Participation in the Elite and Ranger programmes are by invitation only. To qualify, drivers must have a strong track record in delivering high-quality service, receive good passenger ratings and play an active role in meeting the needs of commuters.
This is just the latest in a series of driver care initiatives at Grab. Others include regular Kopi gatherings, durian tasting trips, sponsored getaways for drivers and their families as well as workshops for their children to learn more about technology and entrepreneurship.
