GrabTaxi Announcement

Dear GrabTaxi Partners,

In August this year, we started a pilot of the Assignment Program to a selected group of 160 partners. This group has since grown to include more than 3000 partners in November. Feedback on the Assignment Program has been very positive. Partners love the Assignment Program because:

  • No more bidding, 100%-win rate;
  • Jobs are assigned exclusively to 1 driver, based on closest proximity to the passenger;
  • Save time and fuel as you do not need to drive around aimlessly to look for passengers;
  • Get up to 30% more jobs compared to bidding;
  • More Jobs, more Income.

Hence, we are pleased to announce that all of our GrabTaxi partners will automatically be placed on the Assignment Program with effect from 5 December 2016, 0000hrs. To kick off this milestone, we will be furnishing all our drivers with a Demand Heat Map once you have updated to the new driver app (Android v5.7.4). This is a real time heat map that shows areas in Singapore that has high demand for taxis. We think the heat map will increase the productivity of our drivers. With this roll out, the old bidding system will no longer be in operation.

To help you better understand the Assignment Program, we have put together an online training video and assessment tool that can be found at For further enquiries, please contact our friendly acquisition specialists. Their mobile numbers can be found in the sms that we have sent you.

Season Greetings and Happy Grabbing!

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.

As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.

Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
