Grab’s Brand New Earnings Guarantee Scheme Is The Closest Thing To Worry-Free Driving !

Fellow driver-partners, you might have heard about the whole class divide and income inequality hoo-ha in the news. Critics have thrown up a bunch of comments, including a mention of minimum wage; although it’s still non-existent in Singapore, we have designed a brand new earnings guarantee scheme that cuts close to it – one that ensures that you earn what you work for.

Are you ready for it? You guys can now chiong with peace of mind and your earnings are guaranteed!

We have been hearing from you and we are definitely still on the drive to improve the welfare of our entrusted driver-partners. Sometimes, the fare is not as high as you’d expect, and it can be frustrating not being able to fulfil your financial target. Read on to find out more about the new earnings guarantee scheme!

Before You Enter The Guaranteed Earnings Scheme…

As most of you should be familiar by now, there are four tiers in our Emerald Circle programme: Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Diamond. You can upgrade to the Ruby tier once you’ve hit 8,500 XP points in the Emerald tier. Likewise, for Sapphire, you have to attain 25,000 XP points in the Ruby tier. The Diamond tier is only by invitation when you attain a minimum of 32,000 XP points; however, you need to possess a minimum driver rating of 4.7, an acceptance rate of 90%, and a maximum cancellation rate of 10% on a quarterly average. You also have to be the top 10% of the Sapphire tier.

No matter which tier you are classified under, the guaranteed earnings scheme ensures that you take home an assured sum based on the number of trips in your weekly target. Assuming that you failed to meet the ‘minimum earnings’ even after hitting your weekly target, Grab will top up the shortfall!

The good news does not end there; this measure helps you upgrade to the next tier faster. Your XP will be refreshed every quarter, which means you’ll have to be consistent with the good work if you don’t want to fall behind!

At a Glance: 3 Quick Tips For Consistent Good Work

  1. Complete trips to the best of your abilities, don’t forget to take frequent short breaks;
  2. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate;
  3. Stay on auto-accept to avoid timeout!

Alas, if you would like to get a refresher on the benefits that you can gain from each tier, read the official details about Emerald Circle.

How Does Guaranteed Earnings Work?

Mr Lin is a GrabCar driver-partner in the Ruby tier. He has completed 140 trips this week and is entitled to S$1,972. Mr Lin finds that he is eligible for the guaranteed earnings scheme because he’s maintained his acceptance rate of at least 90%,  cancellation rate of less than 10%, and driver rating of 4.3. However, he realises that he has S$1,600 in earnings. In this case, Grab will top up the remaining difference of S$372*. This top-up does not count towards his XP.

If Mr Lin upgrades from the Ruby tier to Sapphire during the quarter, he would be able to enjoy the higher Earnings Guarantee in the Sapphire tier of the new scheme.

The tiers are refreshed every two weeks, and every GrabCar & GrabTaxi driver-partner will be given a new chance to aim for the highly coveted Sapphire tier, which offers guaranteed earnings of S$2,722 under the new scheme. This is a golden opportunity for all driver-partners to progress with the Guaranteed Earnings scheme. Your XP will be reviewed every 2 weeks, so once reviewed, you’ll instantly unlock the higher earnings guarantee amount!

Earnings Guarantee for Grab driver-partners will commence 29 October 2018 onwards.

*The Earnings Guarantee amounts stated in this article are before the deduction of commission.

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.

As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.

Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
