Grab Drivers Now Get Fairer Money Reimbursement With 3 Major Changes!

Being a Grab driver has become a fulfilling career choice with its incentives. However, it is no secret that many found the road ahead paved with speed bumps now that the ‘golden years’ are over, and it is made a little more worrying with difficult passengers throwing curveballs as they see fit.

The team here at Grab understands your problem, and we are also all about People Power – we’re really only here today because of you driver partners. So we have invested no little effort in implementing three major changes that can help protect your earning potential, and to give you a better overall experience.

1. Grab’s Canceling Your Cancellation Frustration

Grab drivers like you would definitely be able to relate to the frustration when “passenger cancellation” is mentioned. Making a halfway-across-the-world journey to your passenger’s destination, just to have them ghost you is really a ‘jialat’ experience. Petrol and time are both wasted! And because petrol and time is money, we will reimburse S$4 to your ‘Cash Wallet’ for every cancelled booking after you’ve accepted the passenger’s booking for 5 minutes or more. No more worrying or blood-boils.

(P.S. You will receive the compensation in your ‘Cash Wallet’ by Monday, 11.59pm every week! Grab is also working on enabling it to be credited after a cancellation.)

2. Don’t Say We Never Share Bonus!

You’re in for a treat! Most of you should be familiar with the ‘Auto Accept’ function on Grab’s application. We understand that our drivers have to travel further than they wish to, and that’s why we would like to give you guys an incentive for going the extra mile for our passengers!

As long as the passenger is 3 km or further from the pick up point (according to the in-app’s nav), you will receive a S$3 bonus every time you accept a job on ‘Auto Accept’ and complete it.

3. First Bonus, Now Cashback!? Steady!

Now that you know about the compensation and bonus, did you know that we’re also offering 5% commission cashback for unmatched GrabShare rides? This is only fair to you considering that accepting a GrabShare job can be a gamble. The cashback will be credited in the application under ‘incentives’ along with other rewards and bonuses.

These are the three major changes that Grab has made after your feedback. There will also be a new ‘Driver Timeout’ feature coming soon, so stay updated!

You’ve worked hard, Grab hears you, and you deserve these. Don’t say we never jio you!

COVID-19 has dealt an unprecedented blow to the tourism industry, affecting the livelihoods of millions of workers. One of them was Komsan, an assistant chef in a luxury hotel based in the Srinakarin area.

As the number of tourists at the hotel plunged, he decided to sign up as a GrabFood delivery-partner to earn an alternative income. Soon after, the hotel ceased operations.

Komsan has viewed this change through an optimistic lens, calling it the perfect opportunity for him to embark on a fresh journey after his previous job. Aside from GrabFood deliveries, he now also picks up GrabExpress jobs. It can get tiring, having to shuttle between different locations, but Komsan finds it exciting. And mostly, he’s glad to get his income back on track.
