{"id":11469,"date":"2019-04-26T18:16:23","date_gmt":"2019-04-26T10:16:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grab.com\/ph\/?p=11469"},"modified":"2020-01-21T14:18:30","modified_gmt":"2020-01-21T06:18:30","slug":"update-on-cancellation-policy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.grab.com\/ph\/blog\/update-on-cancellation-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"Update on Cancellation Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #00b14f\"><b>We understand how frustrating cancellations are for everyone &#8212; whether for a passenger whose time was wasted or for a driver who already spent fuel and effort to get to the pick-up point. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As part of our <span style=\"color: #00b14f\">#<\/span><\/span><b><i><span style=\"color: #00b14f\">BetterEveryday<\/span> <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">commitment, Grab continues to intensify its efforts to further reduce cancellations by promoting responsible use of its services.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Here are the following updates on our Cancellation Policy that may affect you.:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\"><span style=\"color: #00b14f\"><b>Passenger Timeout<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After excessive cancellations, your\u00a0 account may temporarily be suspended for 24 hours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 300px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"281\" height=\"131\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11487 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.grab.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2019\/04\/29153601\/cancel.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/assets.grab.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2019\/04\/29153601\/cancel.png 281w, https:\/\/assets.grab.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2019\/04\/29153601\/cancel-250x117.png 250w, https:\/\/assets.grab.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2019\/04\/29153601\/cancel-120x56.png 120w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 281px) 100vw, 281px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 120px\"><span style=\"color: #00b14f\"><b>No charges for the long wait<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 120px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If your driver is taking too long to arrive (expected travel time + 15 minutes), or isn&#8217;t making much progress to your pickup location, you will not be charged for cancelling the ride.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There are of course corrective actions for our driver-partners to encourage better service for passengers..<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\"><span style=\"color: #00b14f\"><b>Driver\u2019s Star Rating (Completion Rate)<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\">Just like passengers, Grab drivers are also tiered as either Platinum, Gold, Silver or Member. Drivers are penalized if they go below the required completion rate. If a driver cancels on you, it reduces their Star Rating which also heavily affects their incentives. Completion rate is computed Driver&#8217;s on their completed bookings, cancellation rates and ignored jobs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\"><span style=\"color: #00b14f\"><b>Driver Timeout<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If a driver excessively ignores or cancels booking requests, they are locked out of the platform for a temporary period of time. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\"><span style=\"color: #00b14f\"><b>Ratings and Complaints Analysis<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Drivers with passenger complaints and low star ratings are also flagged. Grab gives out warnings, and suspends or eventually bans drivers over repeat offenses. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, to further protect you, we have also considered the following situations where cancellation fees are waived:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 90px\">1. No fee if passenger cancels within 5 minutes of getting assigned a driver.<br \/>\n2. No fee if the driver isn\u2019t moving towards the pick-up point (or going the wrong direction)<br \/>\n3. No fee if the driver takes 15 minutes longer than the first estimated time of arrival (for example, if the passenger gets a driver who is 3 minutes away, but he or she has waited more than 18 minutes for the driver to arrive, the cancellation is free)<br \/>\n4. No fee if the driver indicates that he has arrived when he or she has not<br \/>\n5. Grab may refund any fees that were charged wrongly within 48 hours when reported via the Help Centre.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A community of responsible passengers and drivers will help reduce unreasonable cancellations as everyone gets to enjoy a #BetterEveryday Grab experience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For urgent concerns or issues on cancellation, you may reach out via Grab Help Center.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"We understand how frustrating cancellations are for everyone &#8212; whether for a passenger whose time was wasted or for a driver who already spent fuel and effort to get to the pick-up point.
