GrabBayanihan
Fighting the threat of COVID-19 together

In light of the national health emergency brought by the threat of COVID-19, Grab, together with its partners from the public and private sectors, have come together and launched GrabBayanihan – a community-driven initiative to safely address the economic and medical pain points brought about by the recent COVID-19 outbreak in the Philippines.

Eighth Week into ECQ: What's New?

Week on week we continue to innovate and find ways on how we can help our community in need through our partners and LGUs. Here are the new things we launched this week! Click on the photos to learn more about the initiatives.

Continuous Support for our affected Driver-Partners during this Time of Need

Safeguarding the livelihood of driver-partners remains our utmost priority. With public transportation services, including for TNVS, suspended for a period of time, we are continuously coming up with different ways to help our driver-partners affected. Here are some of the efforts that we have rolled out in assisting our driver-partners:

Php 14 Million worth of goods

PhP 14M worth of relief items will be distributed to around 40,000 driver-partners. Raised from Grab and our partners, these packs will include grocery vouchers, rice, canned goods, medicine, and drinks.

Activated over 3,000 driver-partners

We have begun virtual training for our GrabCar drivers who will temporarily transition as GrabFood and GrabExpress partners. We currently have over 3,000 activated partners who are already driving and earning.

More than 30,000 safety kits for driver-partners

Grab has distributed 30,000 face masks and almost 2,000 bottles of alcohol to driver-partners. We stay committed to the safety and hygiene of our partners.

Financial Assistance to Driver-Partners

On March 30, Grab credited the Emergency Support Funds to the accounts of GrabCar driver-partners. Grab is also working closely with several government offices on providing financial assistance for affected driver-partners. We confirm that DTI, through its lending arm SB Corp., will be extending SME loan support to GrabDriver partners. We are currently finalizing with DSWD and LTFRB the list of GrabCar drivers eligible for the social amelioration program.

At one in looking out for our community and government partners

Our community partners are not just supporting Grab, they are supporting thousand of drivers and small businesses who make a living via our platform

In partnership with GrabExpress #MadiskartengBossClub Members, we have made an online directory and viber community of sellers selling essential items for better discovery of customers who need essential items.

More than 300 GrabWheels units to be released

Grab has already deployed 83 units of GrabWheels to the local government units of Manila (12), Quezon City (8), Marikina (10), Iloilo (7), San Juan (5), Pasig (5), Muntinlupa (4), Navotas (4), Pasay (4), Cainta (4), Davao (10) and Bacolod (10). There are still more than 150 available units awaiting deployment to other LGUs and even hospitals.

In partnership with the LGUs, Grab has already deployed a specialized car fleet to the LGUs of Quezon City (5), Caloocan (4), Muntinlupa (3), Pasig (10), and Pasay (4). These specialized fleets help in food and medical distributions within these cities.

More than 20,000 safety kits to be donated

Platform for Good

Grab has dedicated its app as an information conduit to the Public Information Offices of Manila and Pasig, whereby relevant public service announcements may be accessed by the residents of these cities through the Grab app

Providing access to daily essentials while safeguarding well-being of everyone on the platform

With enhanced community quarantine in effect, accessing daily essentials is  a challenge for many Filipinos. We – through our GrabFood and GrabExpress services – continue to deliver everyday essential needs such as food, medicine, and others, while providing livelihood opportunities for delivery-partners amidst this period of disruption.

We have launched GrabMart!

As part of Grab’s continuous effort to serve the everyday essential needs of Filipinos, we have expanded our Grab services with GrabMart – an on-demand grocery service that allows you to shop for your essential goods right from your home and have them delivered to you instantly!

Observe Contactless Delivery

To aid in social distancing, Grab introduced a new Contactless Delivery Option that limits contact between consumers and delivery-partners by observing 1-2m distance in fulfilling orders.

How?
  • Inform delivery-partners to drop off the order or parcel outside the door or at specific locations such as the building reception if allowed by the building management
  • Delivery-partners will place the order or parcel at the specified location, notify consumers of their arrival, and wait for them to pick up the order standing at least 3ft/1m away from the order.
  • We strongly encourage consumers to opt for cashless payment. If it is unavoidable to use cash, they can place the amount in an envelope and leave it where the food order is.

Hygiene Tips

Visit the doctor immediately if you feel any symptoms.

Look out for DOH’s announcements via DOH’s Facebook or Official Website
