Our pledge to support partners with disabilities!<\/span><\/p>\n

Last month, as part of Grab\u2019s continued effort in creating a more inclusive platform, we held our inaugural <\/span>Grab For Good<\/span>\u00a0event with the support of <\/span>Malaysian Federation of the Deaf (MFD)<\/span>! Aimed at empowering partners that rely on Grab as a source of flexible income, the event saw more than 350<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>of our <\/span>driver-partners, delivery-partners and merchants-partners<\/span>\u00a0with disabilities attending, as we recognise and celebrate their unstoppable spirit and determination. <\/span><\/p>\n

On top of that, Grab launched a couple of new <\/span>initiatives and features<\/span>\u00a0to make our platform more accessible! Here are some of the highlights:<\/span><\/p>\n

1. In-App SOS Feature & Live Chat Support*<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We\u2019re making it safer than ever for Grab\u2019s partners on the platform! Introducing the <\/span>In-App SOS Feature<\/span>, a feature that allows partners with disabilities to send an automated SMS of their live location to their family and friends, and to alert the police. <\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019re also adding a <\/span>Live Chat Sup<\/span>port for our D<\/span>eaf <\/span>partners<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0for them to communicate with a Grab representative in case of an accident or emergency.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. In-car & In-store aids<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

To facilitate a smoother non-verbal communication, we\u2019re enhancing our existing <\/span>in-car<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>materials <\/span>for our driver-partners! Launched last year, the in-car materials will now include flip-cards specifically for our Deaf driver-partners, to <\/span>communicate on things like navigation routes and toll charges. <\/span><\/p>\n

Delivery-partners and merchant-partners will also receive similar support! This year, merchant-partners are given <\/span>in-store flip cards<\/span>\u00a0with frequently used questions\/expressions and deaf delivery-partners are given <\/span>phone pockets <\/span>with cards that feature helpful every-day phrases.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Passenger & Driver-Partner Education<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

To promote better awareness among our passengers, we\u2019ve launched a series of <\/span>sign language tutorial videos<\/span>\u00a0on the Grab app! To start learning, just launch the app, and scroll down to watch the tutorials. A special shout-out to <\/span>Mr Haymasuthan A\/L Periasamy<\/span>, our Deaf Driver Representative Committee (DRC) for conducting the tutorials! <\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019ll also be conducting <\/span>disability-focused trainings via GrabAcademy <\/span>for driver-partners to learn how they can better assist passengers with disabilities such as those who are wheelchair-bound. <\/span><\/p>\n

4. Driver Representative Committee (DRC) Support<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

As the number of partners with disabilities grows on our platform, we\u2019ve appointed some of them to be part of our <\/span>Driver and Deliver-Partner Representative Committee (DRC)<\/span>. As Driver Reps, these partners act as a <\/span>bridge <\/span>between <\/span>Grab and the driver and delivery-partner communities <\/span>to gather feedback on how Grab can further enhance our platform for our partners.<\/span><\/p>\n

5. Exposure for Grab\u2019s Partners<\/span><\/p>\n

To support our merchant-partners with disabilities, we will be featuring them on <\/span>GrabFood and GrabPay.<\/span> With this, our consumers can learn more about their business and help them grow, right on the Grab app!<\/span><\/p>\n

Participating merchant-partners include <\/span>The Bassment Cafe, Deaf-In-Business (DIB) Restaurant <\/span>and <\/span>RC Deaf Missions Malaysia. <\/span>Do stay tuned as we work to include more merchants soon!<\/span><\/p>\n

All in all, as we continue to serve our partners and provide equal opportunities for everyone on our platform, we would like to once again pledge our support and work harder in making our platform inclusive. Updates and new features! <\/span><\/p>\n

Cashless Midnight <\/span><\/p>\n

For safety of our driver-partners, bookings received between 2AM to 6AM will be <\/span>CASHLESS ONLY<\/span>, except for JustGrab (for Airport) and GrabCar Exec (for Airport) bookings. This means passengers who book a Grab ride during these hours will only be able to pay with cashless methods such as <\/span>GrabPay Wallet <\/span>or<\/span>\u00a0Debit\/Credit card.<\/span><\/p>\n

*This feature will be rolled out in stages to all passengers in Klang Valley from end-October onwards.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
