From our recent data, driver-partners with higher acceptance rates have earned an average of 10% more<\/strong> than driver-partners with low acceptance rates.<\/span>\u00a0While consistently accepting trip requests do help driver-partners maximise their earnings, these high acceptance rates (AR) also do help keep the system running smoothly enabling us to deliver a reliable and high quality service to all.<\/span><\/p>\n

Based on requests from our high rated driver-partners, we will be introducing the <\/span>Driver Timeout<\/strong> <\/span>feature from <\/span>24 September 2018*<\/span><\/strong>. This<\/span>\u00a0will prevent driver-partners<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0who consistently ignore or cancel bookings, from receiving any jobs <\/span>temporarily<\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

N<\/span>ot accepting trip requests causes delays and it does affect the experience for other driver-partners.<\/span>\u00a0However, we understand that sometimes, due to certain circumstances, you can’t accept every trip request or you may want to take a break. <\/span>If you are not ready to accept jobs, please toggle off the ‘unavailable for jobs’ button.<\/span><\/p>\n

*The feature will be launched in stages. By 28 September 2018, this \u00a0feature will apply to all driver-partners nationwide.<\/span><\/p>\n

What happens if I consistently ignore or cancel multiple jobs?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

If you <\/span>ignore or cancel* multiple jobs consistently<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0you may be set as <\/span>\u2018Unavailable\u2019<\/span><\/strong>,<\/strong> and may be <\/span>temporarily prevented<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0from receiving new jobs. If that happens, the timer on your Grab Driver app will show for how long you\u2019ll remain unavailable.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once the timer runs out, you will be informed that<\/span>\u00a0jobs are no longer paused<\/span>. Click on the <\/span>\u2018Unlock<\/span><\/strong>\u2019<\/span>\u00a0icon to continue receiving jobs. Alternatively, you may click on <\/span>\u2018Stay Unavailable\u2019 <\/span><\/strong>to remain unavailable.<\/span><\/p>\n

How will this benefit high-performing driver-partners?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Driver-partners who <\/span>pick and choose<\/span>\u00a0jobs or who are not ready to accept jobs, will temporarily be removed from the system. This will provide greater job potential for other driver-partners, especially those who use the Auto Accept feature, to maintain high Acceptance Rates (AR) and low Cancellation Rates (CR).<\/span><\/p>\n

*Driver cancellations that don\u2019t affect your CR (e.g. \u2018Passenger no show\u2019, \u2018Too many passengers or luggage\u2019, and \u2018Can\u2019t pick up at location\u2019.) will not result in a timeout.<\/span><\/p>\n

How will cancellations result in a timeout?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Which <\/span>service types<\/span>\u00a0will the Driver Timeout feature apply for?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The feature will apply to all of your enabled service types.<\/span><\/p>\n

Will the Driver Timeout feature apply to all versions of the Grab Driver app?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes, this feature will apply to <\/span>all versions<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0of the Grab Driver app. However, there are limitations if your app version is not the latest version. Therefore, please download the latest app version.<\/span><\/p>\n

For iOS app version 1.33.0 and below –<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0you will not be able to see the timeout period.<\/span><\/p>\n

For Android app version 5.46.0 and below – <\/span><\/strong>you will see the timer but you won\u2019t be able to exit the lock screen<\/span><\/p>\n

Will I be timed out if I cancel a job due to \u2018Passenger no show\u2019, \u2018Too many passengers or luggage\u2019, etc?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

No, driver cancellations that don\u2019t affect your Cancellation Rate such as <\/span>\u2018<\/span>Passenger no show\u2019, \u2018Too many passengers or luggage\u2019, and \u2018Can\u2019t pick up at location\u2019<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>will not result in a timeout.<\/span><\/p>\n

Will I be timed out if the passenger cancels the job?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

No, passenger cancellations will not result in a timeout.<\/span><\/p>\n
