At Grab,<\/span>\u00a0we believe that the community that plays together, stays together.<\/span>\u00a0In this spirit, we introduced <\/span>Piala Grab<\/a><\/span>\u00a0last month, our <\/span>very own official <\/span>sports competition, <\/span>exclusively <\/span>for driver-partners and delivery-partners! <\/span><\/p>\n

To kick things off this year, we challenged our partners to conquer the online battlefield in <\/span>PUBG Mobile, <\/span>a popular mobile game among our community. Here\u2019s how it went.<\/span><\/p>\n

Winner winner chicken dinner: here are some of our favourite moments from Piala Grab!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

For our first Piala Grab, driver-partners and delivery-partners teamed up and competed in a <\/span>PUBG Mobile <\/span>battle royale! Divided into <\/span>2 stages<\/span>, the competition saw a total of <\/span>127<\/span>\u00a0teams<\/span>\u00a0participating, with each team consisting of 4 active members. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the<\/span>\u00a0Group Stage<\/span>, which spanned across 5 days, teams were split into 8 tournaments and competed in 3 matches each. The top 16 teams with the highest scores from this stage then advanced to the <\/span>Grand Finals<\/span>, battling it out one last time for the chance to be our <\/span>top 5 winners<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the end, <\/span>Team 118<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>(consisting of 3 Johor Bahru driver-partners and 1 Klang Valley delivery-partner) <\/span>emerged as the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>champion, raking up <\/span>105 points <\/span>and walking away with prizes worth more than <\/span>RM17,900<\/span>! In addition, players from each tournament that scored the highest kills also didn\u2019t go home empty-handed. These players received special prizes and were awarded the \u201c<\/span>Top<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Predator<\/span>\u201d title.<\/span><\/p>\n

On top of that, we <\/span>livestreamed <\/span>the Grand Finals stage on our official <\/span>Rakan Grab and Rakan Penghantar Grab Facebook groups<\/span>. Those who weren\u2019t participating were able to tune in to cheer for their favourite teams and listen to commentaries by <\/span>Yonny and Emi<\/span>, our host and caster. Besides all the in-game actions, viewers were treated with exclusive gifts too, through our <\/span>giveaway sessions.<\/span><\/p>\n
