Grab brings Ramadan favourites to Malaysians

During this period of social distancing, Grab still wants to ensure that Malaysians get to enjoy their favourite Ramadan dishes, and at the same time, help small and independent restaurants and hawkers, to sustain their livelihoods. There will be 3 initiatives by Grab this Ramadan.

1. Grab e-Kitchen

In the spirit of supporting micro-entrepreneurs and keeping the community spirit of Ramadan alive, Grab has partnered with Selangor state government to implement safe, hygienic and socially-distanced e-Kitchens in selected areas below:

  1. Petaling Jaya
  2. Damansara TTDI
  3. Subang Jaya
  4. Puchong
  5. Semenyih
  6. Seri Kembangan
  7. Klang
  8. Cyberjaya
  9. Bangi
  10. Ampang

Date: 24 April to 23 May 2020
Operating hours: 2.30pm to 6.30pm
We highly recommend customers to order by 5pm so that their food arrives in time for berbuka.

FAQ for Merchants and Councils

In the spirit of supporting micro-entrepreneurs and keeping the community spirit of Ramadan alive, Grab has partnered with local councils in the implementation of a safe, hygienic and socially-distanced Bazar Ramadan. Grab e-Bazar Ramadan allows customers to order their favourite food from merchants of the bazars without having to leave their homes. As a Grab e-Bazar Ramadan Merchant, you get to operate your stall and have your food delivered to your customers by our delivery partners.

Currently we only accept application from city councils. If you are a bazar Ramadan merchant and would like to participate, kindly reach out to your local council.

Merchants who will be participating are required to submit the following documents:

  1. Business Registration License
  2. Bank Statement Header
  3. Brand Logo (if applicable) d) Menu
  4. IC for shareholder of more than 25%
  5. Unique Gmail address
  6. Android smartphone (to be used for the GrabFood Merchant app) You can refer here for the samples of required documents.

Yes training will be provided and this will be done virtually. You will be contacted by Grab for a training session after your application is successful.

  1. Prepare food/drinks based on the orders received via the GrabFood Merchant App
  2. Pack the food/drinks following Grab’s packaging guidelines to ensure quality hygiene standard (training for this will be provided)
  3. Hand over the food/drinks to delivery partners

Daily payment will be made directly into the bank account that you have registered with. Payments will take 1 – 3 working days depending on your bank.

2. GrabFood Ramadan Favourites

From murtabak to ayam percik, Malaysians can get their Ramadan favourites delivered to their homes. They can choose from over 900 restaurants on GrabFood in Klang Valley, Johor Bahru, Penang, Melaka, Ipoh, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.

Are you a GrabFood merchant who’s interested in participating with a Ramadan menu?

3. GrabExpress Ramadan

Local businesses and social sellers can continue running their business and deliver their products with GrabExpress. From 13 April GrabExpress is available in 26 cities nationwide, where on-demand deliveries can be made by car or bike, subject to the size and weight of the package(s).
