With SPS Contribution Matching (SPS Gig 3.0) those who are self-employed, especially Grab partners, can receive insurance protection under the Self-Employment Scheme (SPS) programme.

SPS Contribution Matching (SPS Gig 3.0) is a subsidy where Grab partners will only have to pay 20% (RM46.60) from a contribution rate of RM232.80 under Contribution Plan 2.
How do I apply for this programme?
You can make your SPS Contribution Matching (SPS Gig 3.0) application as well as payment through several channels:
- Online via the Matrix Portal
- Download and access the SOCSO phone app
- Set an appointment at the nearest SOCSO office

Would it be compulsory for me to contribute to SOCSO?
Yes, under Act 789, two (2) sectors are Compulsory to be registered, namely the Passenger Transport sector and the Goods or Food Transport sector. Any Self-Employed Person (OBS) who is self-employed or involved in earning a living in both sectors is required to register with SOCSO.
What are the implications if I fail to contribute to any SOCSO protection plan?
Legal action including prosecution in court can be taken against any Self-Employed Person (OBS) who is found to have failed to register, and if convicted can be sentenced to two (2) years imprisonment or fined up to RM 10,000.00 or both.
What do I need to do if I haven’t registered with SOCSO?
You will need to make a request via the Matrix Portal or SOCSO app, or make an appointment at any nearby SOCSO branch nationwide.
As a bike delivery partner who has registered and contributed to SPS Lindung, will I need to wait until that programme has ended?
No, you can register for SPS Contribution Matching at any time. This protection scheme will be activated automatically once the previous protection scheme has ended.
Will the SPS Contribution Matching scheme still apply to me if I change self-employment economy sectors (for example, from GIG to TANI)
No. You will need to register and pay the contribution for the self-employment economy sector in question separately.
Can I transfer ownership of my coverage if I am no longer involved in the gig economy?
No, you cannot transfer ownership of this coverage.

A copy of your Identity Card and a screenshot of your profile on the Grab Driver app.
How will Grab partners be able to check their status?
You can check your SPS Gig application status through several channels:
- Online via the Matrix Portal
- Download and access the SOCSO phone app

How do I make a claim if I’m involved in an accident?
