Jakarta, 21 October 2016 – GrabBike, the on-demand ‘ojek’ service and GrabExpress, an instant courier service provided by Grab, the Southeast Asia’s leading ride-hailing platform, are now available in Bali. Starting from 22 October 2016, users in Denpasar and Badung area can enjoy safe, affordable and reliable Grab’s two-wheels services with just a few taps on their smartphone.

Since the introduction of GrabBike and GrabExpress in Jakarta in 2015, both services has become the preferred choice of transportation and courier service.  GrabBike has quickly become one of the fastest growing services across the region as it gives ease for users to beat the city traffic safely and efficiently. In 2016, GrabBike has grown 300% YTD in Indonesia, while reducing bike subsidies per completed ride by 50%.

While GrabExpress promises safe, reliable and speedy pick-up and delivery of documents and small parcels that is suitable for personal or business needs, passengers can be assured of their safety with GrabBike rides as 100 per cent of GrabBike riders are licensed, their motorcycle plates information are available on the app and all riders are required to undergo safety riding training before they are allowed to take passengers. Both riders and passengers also enjoy free insurance coverage by Grab.

“Bali dominates the tourism growth and potential and we see the opportunity to improve daily commute in the bustling city of Denpasar and Badung. The launch in Bali will compliment the GrabCar service launched in Bali in 2015. GrabBike operates on the same platform as GrabCar, offering a seamless experience for those wanting the option of private cars or motorcycle taxi, and fulfilling all transportation needs within one app,” said Mediko Azwar, Marketing Director, Grab Indonesia.
