Grab Games was established in December 2009 upon the acquisition of Grab.com and its assets from Demand Media by an all-star team of video game and web industry veterans. Grab has been formed with the goal of creating the best social games across all major interactive platforms, building upon Grab’s existing classic casual IP (Gold Miner and Belle’s Beauty Boutique, with over 16M downloads and 5B+ game starts), popular web destinations and 2M+ active user base, as well as creating groundbreaking new products from original IP and major licensed brands – Grab is poised to “level up” the world of social gaming.
Grab is led by CEO Anthony Borquez, coming from his role as VP of Mobile and Online Business for Konami as well as being the Founder of the Game Development track at the USC School of Engineering, which has birthed the careers of many video game industry leaders. Anthony has assembled a team who have played key roles across Engineering, Product Development and Marketing for many of the video game industry’s most innovative and successful brands across PC, console, mobile and social games (including Metal Gear Solid, Sonic the Hedgehog, Dance Dance Revolution, The Sims and Farmville) – the Grab team knows how to create a great and thriving video game product.
Currently Grab Games portfolio contains IPs like Gold Miner World, ManStruggle and Belle’s Beauty Boutique and will continue to grow. We have also completely redesigned our home page with a plethora of new games and features that incorporate today’s social gaming practices. As of Q1-2011, Grab Games is indeed striving to keep its promise of “leveling up” the world of social gaming!
