Weird Fact of the Day


There are mirrors on the moon. Astronauts left them so that laser beams could be bounced off of them from Earth. These beams help give us the distance to the moon, give or take a few metres.

Addendum to 2hip's information:

The mirrors on the moon also led to the discovery that for some reason, space suits don't make you appear as fat as they do here on earth.

Hmmm so how did we gauge how far it was before the mirrors got left behind? Isn't that littering?

Its obvious what the mirrors are for,
