First of all, always have one hand on your mouse and the other on the right arrow button. If you click the plunger and you know it is headed in the wrong place you can pull it back by hitting the right arrow. It only works to a certain point, once the plunger has gone too far it no longer works.
Also using the right arrow can help you set up your next shot, rather than waiting for the plunger to swing around you can manipulate it a little bit by using the right arrow right after you press the mouse button to release your plunger. Play with it a bit.

Always go for money because if you do complete level 20 the money is not only turned into points but it is doubled and turned into points. The highscores you see are from getting lots of money.

Always go for same color eggs in a row, once you finish one color move onto another combo, the points increase dramatically. Especially red and gold eggs.

And as people are saying it really helps to know what to buy. There are two or three possible boards for each level.

Levels 1, 2, 3-Don't buy anything just go for color combos.

Level 4 and 11 will always be the white egg level, buy ears there will always be a bird. Only one of the possible 3 boards on this level has a chick so not worth buying unless it is really cheap.

Level 5 and 12 can be one of three levels, one has birds, one has chicks and one has neither so these are the two levels that you gamble on what you buy.

Level 6 and 13 will always have chickens with gold eggs. Try to lay as many eggs as possible and pick them up one after the other for points, save enough time to pick them up though once you lay them.  ALso you can only have 5 gold eggs on the board, if you hit a 6th it will take one of them away so don't bother. There are three possible boards on these levels. I usually buy ears if available simply because if I get the one board with the two birds they are a major pain.

level 7 and 14 always buy chicks, 3 possible boards, I always hope for the one with two rows of white eggs across lots of money, get the money!

level 8, 15 and 18 get the ears everytime! 3 possible levels one being the all red egg bird level but each of the three has at least one bird.

level 9,16 and 19, three possible boards. Two of them give you multiple egg rows and money bags at the bottom, go for the money after you have enough points to pass the level. The one board has no money, pout if you get this board like I do.

level 10, 17 and 20 these are in my mind the best levels. I hate one of them, one has 3 chickens and no money and the other is the always wanted gold bag, gold egg level. Hope for that one of course!

If you print this and get to know the levels this way you will get to level 20!

Once you get there you just continue to try and get there again and again only with more money for doubled points!!!

I have printed this out, although I already do everything you said, but I have to admit, my aim isn't always the best. lol My high score is just 23,000, but I do finish all 20 levels, each time I play.
Just can't seem to get those real high scores!

wow those are grat tips I never had time to actually study the boards I tried but I dont play this game that much but now I got great tips I will.. but shoot i still can not get 36.. or evan 60 .. I remember when I started playing the score wasnt ever that high I am surprise to see such scores.. I was in chat and heard a rummor that it is cause paople are cheating!! I am not sure if I beleaive that...
What bout buying the egg cartoon when u know that u are getting a alot of egg combos( is it worth it?) and what bout buying the extra time???

Thanks for the tips Jennibean.  I knew that there was a pattern, I just hadn't figured it out yet.  That tip about the right arrow will help alot.  Waiting for the plunger to get in place uses up alot of time.  Great post! 

Good question Breezy about the egg carton.... The egg carton only gives you a few more points, and only on the lower colored egg combos (white & orange) so it's not really worth it. Plus, you shouldn't even be wasting your time on the lower point eggs anyhow if you want a really good score.  Keep in mind if you get 10 more points for buying the egg carton and you paid 10 dollars for it, your money is doubled at the end (if you finish) so it really cost you 20 to buy it.  Hope this helps....

Ditto to msrainbow. I never buy the egg carton, it is worthless as far as I'm concerned. Like rain said it costs money and money is doubled at the end so you will always lose money if you buy it.

Hey everybody another tip is always buy ears for levels 6 and 13 because there will most likely always be a bird

There are actually 3 possible boards for level 6 and 13 .....

1) = Money bag with no birds
2) = No money bag and no birds (my fav cuz no rocks either)
3) = No money bag and the lousy birds

So actually there is only a one in 3 chance you will get the birds, however, I have found if you do not have the ears u increase the chances of the dreaded crows being there. LOL 

These two rounds you need to focus on golden eggs to maximize your points!

I don't play this game often enough to know how many boards and um stuff but I do know that level 4 and 11 are so easy to get 10 combos if you pick the first white egg on the right when the board has the white eggs in an oval

I can see you did your homework.  That's amazing.  Although I'm really not sure about the carton points, you shed a wealth of knowledge on the whole of hunting for eggs forever!!!!
