you could read them as numbers, or you could just read them as the letter notes that they are. Starting on the left it's f, g, a, b, c, d, e...it's much easier if you actually know how to read music than if you try to read them as numbers

When it comes to the music section of the game, I choose to do the brain buster level. If you do too, but are having a hard time maybe this will help you.
I read the music (like most of you). However, I read it out loud which makes it a bit easier to remember.
But what helps me moreso is when reading it, I say it with rhythm as if I were saying a phone number. In other words a sequence of 3notes then 4 notes. Like this: example - 772 2412
And if you're doing the expert level I still say a rhythm, except it would be a sequence of 2 notes then 3 notes or vise versa...Like this: 224 51 OR 22 451.
I sure hope this might help some of you a bit.
