I have tried many ways to try and get further but the only thing that seems to work is leaving the edges of the board till last, is that right? Has anyone got any tips PLEASE

that is so true and when i read this post i took your idvice and it really helped

Don't forget what Lillac said on the post "can you catch them both at once" .. YOU CAN set the trap and remain there and NOT get hugged when they jump on it.  They will be gone and the space will remain the color it was when you landed on it.  Lots of luck and KEEP trying.

only tip i have is go for the gems but get the trap parts on the way forget the coins unless you can because they are only 200 gems are 300-500

I m not sure what the best way is... i do okay with this game by having my left hand on the space bar and the 3 middle fingers on the arrows, moving as fast as i can. I usually go for the trap pieces and the jewels...then i kill #1 then race around #2 to finish the game.  I find playing fast improves your chances.  Good luck!
PS: sometimes the traps dont work... so give yourself a little space to try it out...
