I would really like to know too. I can't get passed 40,000. That is going as fast as I can. Is there a good tip or do you get extra points for doing something?

Great question!
It isn't possible... unless you cheat.
People use the pause function to delay the clock from running down while clicking off pairs. This does not work for me as it takes all the sport out of the game. Seriously, if you are scoring over 225,000 points you are a fraud and I honestly don't understand how that can be fun (?)... pausing the boards over and over and over to score ridiculous points is time consuming and obvious.
OR...
If you want to score lots of points while actually playing the game, you could actually try to just being good at one of the three different layouts (instead of playing the suggested three different board layouts without skipping). That's how I play and I exclusively play one board that I can complete in 1min 30sec on avg. Speed is key to score more points.
The fastest players could technically be completing the boards within a minute each but the math on that only works out to 100,000 points in regards to the 5,000 point bonus for clearing each board and then the arbitray 5,000 to 10,000 points per level that you score while playing the level itself.
Hope this answers your questions!

Thanks for your advice. Since reading this thread I've only been playing one of the layouts and with practise have scored over 100000 for the first time ever!
