OK, for all you power Fridge Words players (you konw who you are!) here are some tips and tricks to help you rack up even bigger scores.
Tip #1: Look for the "S"
If you have an "s" in a word, you can effectively double your score! Move the word with the "s" to the end of the line, and every time you spell "pot" you can also spell "pots".
Tip #2: Don't end the round early
If you are trying to get a major score, don't end the round early even if you have enough points to advance. The more words you get, the better! If you manage to totally fill up your piece of paper (get 30 words or more) you'll get a 500 point bonus! This is really only possible in the early rounds of the game where time is plentiful, so don't skip.
Tip #3: Spell those Fridge Words!
If you manage to actually spell one of your fridge words magnets (for example, if you have the words "parlay", "yeti", "igloo", and "nostril" and you manage to spell out "yeti" using all 4) then you get a 50 point bonus! If you have any 3-letter words, you can probably spell them for extra points.
Tip #4: Magic Letters Rule!
If a magic letter appears (blue letter with gold text) - drop everything an start spelling with that magic letter! You'll get double points for each word you make. Act quickly, because the magic letter only lasts until you've made 2 words, or until 60 seconds is up, whichever comes first.
Tip #5: Spell Grab!
If you manage to spell "grab" you'll get a 50 point bonus!
OK, that's it for now - get out there and find some fridge words!

Great tips! I always tried to use those blue letters but I wasn't sure if affected anything. I'm already hooked on this game, but now I have to go try to spell out all my fridge words and get "grab" in there too. Thanks again!

Another good trick is to look for words that end in "et" 90% of the constanants in the alphabet create a three letter word when you put them before -et. Same goes for -end not as many as -et, but still a quick way to ring up a lot of words fast.
Also, most times if you re-arrange the e and a in a word you can create another one. ie tea, eat, and ate, bear and bare or wear and ware.

I noticed that spelling "grab" doesn't get 50 points (maybe at one point it did) It just scores like a regular word.

starhorse75 wrote:ie tea, eat, and ate Don't forget that eta and tae are words as well. (I'm a scrabble freak so I know a lot of obscure words). Rearranging the letters in words saves a lot of time, as does the use of rhyming words (et, it, and at variations are my personal favorites). Also, whenever I have two t's, there are usually a good amount of word possibilities (tat, tet, tit, tot, tut, and att).
