 Definally We need a pause button.
When someone knocks on your door, you end up
loosing your game, Thats why i think it would
be very usful to have a pause button.
What do the rest of you think about this?

I think that that is an excellent idea  because everytime i get really into this game i have to break for all kinds of reasons especially when i'm on a roll. I get really angry when i'm doing so well and i have to do something and leave the game open and when i come back i already lost.

I think that it's true like say ur phone rang and u have to get the phone and u can't pause the game.Or if ur chatting and trying to play the game. You can't do both. Just like I had 00:43 seconds left to play and I had no idea what the six letter word was so i went to go chat to see if i could fnd out what the word was but by the time they asked what the letters where I had already lost because i couldn't push pause!!!!!!!!!!!

Just enter the letters in caps like this T I M N A G .. They will usually give you the word likw thing TAMING MATING .... But also people use use the pause button to cheat so ...

there is no pause button but as long as you dont hit the go to next round button its on pause. put in 6 letter word and you can go to the next round. thats what I always do if I need a break at this game

Ummm ... the key to this game is to see how many words you can come up with in a limited period of time. If there was a pause button, then every time you get stuck, you could pause it and figure out all the words while on pause, then go back and fill them all in. If you continue this way, then whatever score you get (if you ever stop the one game you would be on forever) would not be accurate. In effect, it is like cheating ... so let's just call it a "cheat button"! I understand what you all are saying - sometimes other things get in the way ... it is called life; Text Twist is a game! To have a pause button is defeating the purpose of the game!

Well said, Merdot. I was ready to agree with everyone, but you're perfectly right. While it frustrating getting interrupted, especially when you're on a roll, lots of people would misuse it and cheat. As you said, It's a game; if we start feeling as if real life is getting in th way of our games, i guess it's time for a reality check. i know I get that way sometimes and need to bring my self back. Thanks for reminding us.

Thanks tallkkmoore! I appreciate your reply!  Good to see that I didn't upset everyone! I was wondering if I might because so many people were in agreement about the "pause" button (aka "cheat" button)! It is good to have my thoughts validated! I still stand by what I said! Anyone else have any their two cents to add??

That is so true. What if suddenly your phone rang beside you and you need to pick it up but your hands are controlling either the mouse or the keyboard. What are you going to use? Your teeth? Of course not, we need a pause button! I so agree with you.

Since the purpose of the game is to see how many of the words you can get in 2 minutes, I think a pause button would not work. All you need to do is have 1 6 letter word and the game lets you continue to the next round. So, most of the time you won't lose your game since you can post what your 6 letters are and get help with what the 6 letter word(s) are from the others in the room. Most are willing to help with the 6. Asking for help with the rest and giving it makes the chat so busy that help for those who need their 6 letter help can be missed though, so please keep the help associated with the 6s.

you may say you need one for good reasons, but in reality we all know ur gonna just write the letters down and then pause the game.
~I think a pause button is a good idea. lol jk

I think the pause button is a great idea. I don't think it would be a "cheat button" if when you paused it, the play area became "blocked" so you could not see what the letters were. True, some people would write it down, but you have got to be pretty bored to do that.

Hey, that is a interesting compromise! But since the board and letters are not blocked, then I still say the "pause" button is more of a "cheat to make sure I get the highest score possible everytime" button!! And, you are right, some people would write down the letters just before the pause block, so I still go back to my original statement:
the game is meant to be timed ... that is the challenge!! So pausing for any reason defeats the purpose! If your phone rings, or doorbell goes, or significant other needs you or whatever - that is your life interrupting the game, so let the game go, see to your life and start a new game when you have time! Unless you have already figured out the 6 letter word, in which case the only thing you lose are all the other words for that set, but so what!? Your game will still continue!
Does ANYONE out there agree with me???

I agree a pause button would be nice but lets face it. Not everyone would use it for pausing. Some WOULD cheat. So we are not going to get one. I agree with why we wont get one also. But like some people have said already: The game is timed for a reason. If you have to take a break just get the 6 letter word and if you dont get the rest it doesnt exactly matter because you will be able to go to the next level. Take breaks in between. Thats all we can do. Grab is not going to give us a pause button so...
I think we might as well give up...

Thats a good idea and all, i mean i was just thinking to myself that it needed a pause button but then when you really think about it, it is actually cheating so yie, tough situwation

I understand what everybody here means when they say you need a pause button. Sometimes you have to get up from the computer to go do something and you can't pause your game because you haven't found the 6 letter words or other words. I understand also why they don't put a pause button in this game, otherwise it would be easier to cheat. But if you need to do something right that second that takes you away from the computer, finish the level you are on by getting the 6 letter word and the game stops until you click "ok" to go on to the next level.
