I enjoy this game: I've played it twice, two ways and either way seems to get you finishing with a score between 200K and 180K.

1)COLLECT FANCY POWER-UPS:
If you don't touch the powered-up sun, the next few boards, you will be offered the fancy power-up pieces. Try to get them done before you get rid of all the picture puzzle pieces for that board, or you won't be able to collect them. You don't get extra points for not using them, but they hang around from board to board, so they can't get lost. Save them for the later boards, which become more and more difficult as you go along. You also don't get extra points if you don't use up all your lives by the end of the game.

2)WITHOUT USING FANCY POWER-UPS
If you look for the four-piece moves and get all the sun-power-ups you can, then when you click on the sun (at the lower left), all these little suns will burst out and erase certain pieces.  Some of those pieces erased will be random, but a piece under each puzzle piece will always be removed.  So, if your puzzle pieces have only one more piece to be removed for them to hit bottom, that will take care of those pieces.  You can recharge the sun-piece as many times as you can find the correct number of four-piece plays. But BEWARE, if you use the power-sun, you will NOT get the other nifty power-up pieces to collect on your next board.  If a locked piece is under the puzzle piece, then the little sun will blast off the lock altogether or just the one lock if it is a double-locked piece.

I got a slightly higher score without using the sun-power-ups (the fancy ones make the game go faster, so you do get a higher score for the time bonus). Using ONLY that helper, is more challenging. But I've only played this game twice, so others may have noticed which way leads to a higher score.

I hope these tips are clearer than mud! lol I'm hoping that after you play it, you'll be able to figure out what I mean.

Enjoy the game,
Joy

I've played SEVERAL times and it seems you can get a higher score by not using the bombs and lightning bolts, use the sun and save your last sunburst and puzzle piece until your time is almost up. IN the mean time get as many points as you can. WHen your time is almost up click on your sun and get your last puzzle piece plus some points for the ones the sun takes out.

if you don't complete carthage and return to phoenicia, you can play forever and keep adding to your score.
