When you play what word. what does it mean to get the what word... can anyone give me some tips on how to do this

You receive points for each word you spell, based on the number of letters. When you use the starred letters in that word you gain more points. When you spell the "WhatWord" you get even more points and go to the next level.
Now the trick to getting lots of points is to use the starred letters in the "WhatWord". The more starred letters used in the ?WhatWord?, the more points you get.
For example I spelt ?grass? with only 2 starred letters and got 92,000 points for that one word, yet if I spelt a word with 3 or more starred letters you can earn over 500,000 points for that one word.
Again the amount of points depends on the letters and the length of the word.
