I would like to know how some people are getting these outrageously high scores. How long are you playing for or have you found a way to cheat at it?

Some people do not close their game. My high score is 5.1 million. That took me four or five days.  Just did not shut the computer down overnight!

You're very welcome, Elizabeth and thanks too!  Was working on beating that score, and was at 2,5 mil this morning.  Then when I was at work my "dear Hubby"  (grrrrr) lost my game on purpose.  He did that with my big game too! Grounds for divorce I tell ya!  lol

In my opinion the first 4 high scores are bogus. Those players haven't been members long enough to acquire the scores they have. My high score of 35M took 12 days. To get a score of 2 billion you would have to play for months and months. Maybe even a year or more. I think it is a shame that people have to cheat. It spoils it for the players who try for high scores honestly. For those of you who have Windows XP you can hibernate your game. Your game is saved to  your hard drive and hibernation turns off your computer so you don't lose anything in case of power failure while you are not playing.

well, I was wondering the very same thing...the high score has only been a member for a few days!! How in the heck can you get a 2 billion score in a few days? plus, if you notice, the number ends in a "1" which is not reality, all scores end in a "5" or a "0".  Something is amiss here

I agree on this one.
I've been going at this game for a about 4 hours total yesterday, and an hour today, and I am at about 400,000 right now.

Once you've played enough, you shouldn't need a device. As long as you get the main word, I just enter 3 letter words that have atleast one vowel, and tada. The words this thing comes up with!

And as you can tell, I also leave my laptop on. It's just when I have to take it to work, and that means disconnecting my game I have not yet broken 1 million before I had to turn my lap top off. I'm hoping to maybe hit that tonight That is, if I don't lose first! Some of those top words are HARD!

I would like to give this player the benefit of the doubt. Other websites play this game, like yahoo, popcap, etc. I only recently signed up for grab, although I was playing games on popcap and yahoo for a long time. I was able to get on the top 10 of the day (place 7) on Speed, but that is because I have spent 2 years playing it on myspace.com

However, the score thing is kind of weird. Why not let staff know about it?

As someone who has posted a really high score to this game (over at gamehouse), I can assure you that the top 5 scores are all bogus.  For starters, all real scores end in zero.  And my high score over there took about 5 months duration (granted, I have a full-time job, so it's not like I was playing it all the time).  But my top rate is about 1.5 hours per million points, and I doubt anyone else can do significantly better than that.  I can vouch for nancy's score (#6 on the list), she has a high score over at gamehouse too.

On a side note, I don't think I'll ever play a game that long again.

well - u guys know i've been at this for a long time - and if i'm not busy chatting and talking - i can get about 500,000 per hour - so it takes me 4 hours to get to 2 million - so the max possible i could get in a day if i played for 24 hours straight is 12 million - long way from 2 billion i must say...so these scores could not possibly have been achieved by playing - not even the 177 million one... coz that was less than 2 days after the id was created that it was posted -- have to wonder what purpose someone who couldn't probably get 50,000 points honestly is doing posting these kinds of scores and ruining this website...but we know they don't have a brain to play the game

The scores not ending in a 0 or a 5 really puzzle me. Personally though I just choose to ignore them. These people probably want people to be talking about how high their scores are. They get a kick out of these conversations. The way I see it, talking about them is giving them what they want.

And yes, I'm aware of the irony in the fact that I'm talking about not talking about it lmao.

my puter cant handle trying to set a high score. at some point it just reboot or just lock up. but I have played this at gamehouse many years. lots of players use the hibernation modus of windows XP to get a high score. this way your puter dont have to be on day and night. let your game running and choose at the power off screen not for switching off puter but press shift and you will see the standby modus change into hibernation. then your puter will go into sleeping modus and when you start up your puter it starts with all screens  you left open. if you dont see this hibernation modus you need to see in the poweroptions of your computer if its enabled.

I have windows XP but it does not hibernate ... I also share a computer ... My dad (Triumphrider) and me compete at this game. We are both really good but I only can get just over 1 million before I have to give it up. I do not think they are cheating. I think they just have thier own computers and they have lots of time to play it. Now for the ones that end in 1 ... Yes something is probly wrong with that.

Wow.  You guys can get a lot of points in a short time.  It takes me forever to get 200,000.

The game freezes up on me, too, in spite of having firefox with the ad blocker plus.  It's really frustrating when I've finally got over 150,000 and it freezes and I lose.

I believe that getting 12 billion on this game is possible. I believe that any score is possible. There is no certain amount of levels (that I'm aware of) and as long as you can keep getting the 6 letter word, you move on. Also if anyone has ever noticed this, when you get ALL the words for each "level" you get a bonus. When you do this multiple times in a row, your bonus keeps getting bigger. It like doubles or whatever. So I can believe that is possible. Also I think if my dad played non-stop, he would be number 1 because he could beat those scores. This is his strong point thing. So I belive that any score is possible. If you can get all the words, your score is higher.
But the 1 at the end of the score... That again I still think is strange. But I just wanted to let you all know that. The score also isnt on the scoreboard anymore.
